International Surrogacy & Donor Arrangements: Legal Process and Assistance
When International Intended Parents partner with U.S. gestational carriers or donors, or both, they need U.S. legal advice and representation.
Meryl B. Rosenberg, Esq. works with International Intended Parents from countries outside the U.S. Many are referrals from matching agencies, attorneys, and IVF center representatives in the Intended Parents’ home countries.
Feel free to contact us as soon as you begin working with a matching agency so you are best prepared from day one.
International intended parents generally come to the United States because it’s considered a preferred country for surrogacy services. They also do so because restrictive laws can often make surrogacy a challenge in their own countries, and because important things like medical practices, hospital safety, and well-developed laws around surrogacy are “givens” in much of the U.S.
Meryl B. Rosenberg, Esq. works with overseas individuals and couples from a long list of countries that includes Israel, Germany, the U.K., France, Spain, Italy, and Australia, to name a few. As a result, our familiarity and vast experience with the legal concerns and needs of intended parents overseas is extensive. This includes what is legally necessary both before and after the birth, both for US requirements and the home country requirements.
A smooth process with your home country
Meryl can represent you during the International Surrogacy process to make sure you receive the protection and support you need — taking care of everything from enforceable surrogacy contracts to establishing your parental rights before your baby is born.
We work closely with your attorney in your home-country from the very beginning to ensure that your legal agreements comply both with the requirements here in the US and your own country’s; and that the final order issued by the court complies with the particular needs of your country. We can assist with your apostille needs and ensure a smooth return and arrival home with your baby.
Please contact Meryl at the very start of your surrogacy journey to see how she may assist you. We are here to ensure your parental rights and your family-building process are safe and secure.
